Inno TSD was invited on April 10th 2018, to Finnish Lapland to organise a workshop for the ClusSport partnership, as part of the ReConfirm project funded by DG GROW and managed by EASME. ClusSport is one of the Industrial Modernisation thematic partnerships validated and supported by DG REGIO and DG GROW and present on the S3 Platform.
It aims to implement concrete interregional cooperation and co-investment projects between ten European regions/clusters, in the field of sport and is led jointly by the Lapland Region, South Netherlands supported by European Platform for Sports Innovation. The partnership gathers eight other regions: Kainuu (Finland), Dalarna (Sweden), Flanders (Belgium), Upper Austria (Austria), Auvergne Rhône-Alpes (France), Trento (Italy), Catalonia and Valencia (Spain).
Inno TSD is responsible for delivering various support services to the ClusSport partnership, that include a mapping of the regional assets of each of the partners, related to the modernisation of the sport industry. The Lapland workshop was aimed at presenting the results of the mapping, whilst engaging the partners to reflect upon potential interregional cooperation and business led projects.
The partners were invited to pitch their flagship regional assets/projects and Inno TSD conducted a brainstorming exercise to trigger ideas for potential cooperation projects.
The results were outstanding, as the regions found common ground for many future collaborations. Thanks to dynamic interregional cooperation opportunities the future of the European sport industry is in the starting block!
