inno TSD has just completed a very busy cluster week in Brussels as part of the support it is providing to DG GROW via the European Cluster Cooperation Platform that is host to 750 clusters. Three events were organised as part of the EU Industry Days programme.
On Wednesday 21 February inno TSD organised the launch conference of the new European Strategic Cluster Partnerships that was attended by 120 clusters and policy makers from 22 different countries including Deputy Director General Antii Peltomakii from DG GROW. The meeting was moderated by ECCP Project Coordinator Marc Pattinson and included presentations by cluster managers and SMEs from France, Spain, Lithuania, Germany and Italy. All the new 23 ESCP’s, such as PIMAP led by French cluster Alpha Route des Lasers et des Hyperfréquences received their award labels and discussed their internationalisation strategies. The inno TSD team led Eva Fadil then presented the ECCP service offer tailored to support the ESCP’s achieve their objectives and animated a series of country specific workshops.
An evening cocktail attended by some 200 representatives from European, national and regional policy makers and clusters managers rounded off the day.
On Thursday 22 February an ECCP cluster matchmaking event brought together 130 clusters from 24 countries and included a strong delegation of some 20 French clusters and the AFPC (Association Française des Poles de Compétitivité). The meeting welcome address was given by new EASME Head of Unit Mrs Natalia Martinez Paramo. Over the course of the day over 525 bilateral meetings took place as well as numerous unformal exchanges. In the afternoon Marc Pattinson was invited to present the ECCP to the inaugural meeting of the European Cluster Policy Forum Group that includes senior ministerial representatives from all 27 EU Member States including the DGE from France.
