Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform Events expert

(full-time, based minimum 1 week per month in Lille)

The Policy Learning Platform is an innovative tool of European territorial cooperation, allowing any region in Europe to improve their regional development policies through interregional learning opportunities and targeted expert services.

Role and working context

Aimed at ensuring the successful organisation of interregional policy learning events, the Policy Learning Platform is looking for an events expert to join the communications team of the project. Under the coordination of the communications manager and in collaboration with the thematic manager and experts as well as the web and community management expert, you have a strong role in / will be in charge of: ▪ developing and implementing the online and offline events to ensure the Policy Learning Platform reaches the right people with the right message, and encourage policy learning and networking; ▪ implementing the communication strategy of the Policy Learning Platform through its various channels, using storytelling techniques. The Policy Learning Platform is an Interreg Europe initiative, managed by inno. Your contract will be established with inno TSD (French subsidiary of the inno group) and the work is to be delivered in close collaboration with the joint secretariat of Interreg Europe (JS). Tasks

▪ Contribute, plan, organise and coordinate international events such as: ▪ thematic workshops for project partners (around 40 to 50 participants) ▪ online webinars on thematic topics for project partners (up to 100 participants) ▪ the annual networking event for Managing Authorities (up to 200 participants) ▪ Policy Learning Platform’s participation in external events, mainly the European Week of Regions and Cities (Brussels) ▪ Ensure Policy Learning Platform has required tools to ensure visibility at events (stands, banners, etc.) ▪ Come up with suggestions to enhance the event’s success and coordinate team efforts when designing and implementing the event concept ▪ Prepare budgets, source and negotiate with vendors and suppliers ▪ Support promotional activities for the events and contribute to other Policy Learning Platform promotion campaigns ▪ Analyse and evaluate reach of events to target groups and propose alternative methods as required ▪ Report on the success of the events and contribute to the communication strategy

Requirements

▪ university degree in a relevant field ▪ 2 years minimum experience in communication activities, in particular event organisation/ management ▪ work successfully to targets, delivering objectives and desired outcomes ▪ proven ability to write content for different target groups and various channels, in English ▪ experience in project management ▪ experience in working with external suppliers ▪ outstanding organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail ▪ ability to manage multiple priorities and work with deadlines ▪ at ease with social media, enthusiastic speaker and moderator ▪ good computer literacy (Microsoft Office and database software) ▪ good knowledge of and genuine interest for the online environment

Desirable

▪ experience in digital events ▪ photo and video making and editing ▪ knowledge of European Union institutions and policies, Cohesion policy in particular, preferably through practical experience

Working conditions

Location You should be based in Lille. You will work in close cooperation with Policy Learning Platform team located at the Interreg Europe Joint Secretariat, Les Arcuriales – 45, rue de Tournai, 59000 Lille, France. The exact presence in the office is to be discussed and established throughout the recruitment process.

Terms of employment The position is based on a contract under French law. The assignment (CDI contract) will start as soon as possible.

Remuneration package

The gross salary is expected to be 32K€ - 35K€ a year on the basis of the full-time job (typically 35 hours per week). This package is open for negotiation according to your professional experience.

About inno group and the Policy Learning Platform project

The Policy Learning Platform

inno TSD is the project coordinator of the Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform.

The Policy Learning Platform is the second pillar of the Interreg Europe programme, established to boost EU-wide policy learning and capitalisation on practices from regional development policies. The aim of the platform is to make the knowledge and solutions developed by Interreg Europe projects accessible and usable by other regions. Consequently, the Policy Learning Platform offers networking, knowledge sharing and policy learning opportunities to any interested region in Europe, including those not involved in a project funded by Interreg Europe. The Policy Learning Platform is therefore a hub of information and services to facilitate continuous learning mainly among local and regional public authorities in Europe where they can find solutions to improve the way they manage and implement their public policies.

The client is the joint secretariat of Interreg Europe. The project is part of a framework contract with a duration of seven years (started in 2017).
